Back in 2019, the first edition of European Fashion Law was published to fill a gap: there was no single, user friendly and accessible resource to help fashion businesses get to grips with the ways in which law intersects with the fashion industry across Europe.
The book was designed to guide readers through the lifecycle of a fashion business, with clear, practical insight into intellectual property, commercial agreements, employment, disputes and more.
Since then, the fashion industry and the legal landscape around it have changed dramatically.
Brexit is no longer theoretical - its effects are now visible and impactful. New business models have emerged, shaped by AI, digital fashion, and NFTs. Sustainability is no longer a niche concern but a fundamental principle guiding fashion businesses across Europe. And alongside all this, the law has continued to evolve. Sslowly in some areas, rapidly in others.
The second edition of European Fashion Law responds to these shifts.
The new edition:
Reflects the current realities of practising fashion law across Europe.
Includes new chapters on digital fashion and upcycling.
Addresses AI's growing influence in product design, manufacturing, marketing, and even dispute resolution.
Revisits the key concepts from the first edition, updating them with the clarity and precision that only hindsigh (and another half-decade of client questions) can provide.
This book remains rooted in accessibility, practicality, and relevance. Whether you're launching your first brand, joining an established house, or teaching the next generation of fashion lawyers, this edition is designed for you.
